When I am humble, I listen and obey more.

People who think they know everything usually think that they don't need God.

Thinking that you know everything is the ultimate example of ignorance. Admitting that you don't know is wise.

We can use our wisdom for God when we have humility.

The proud are not teachable; only with a teachable spirit, knowing that you don't know it all and willing to learn more, can you learn more. God resists the proud (James 3:13-18; 4:5-6).

Humbleness leaves us to look for answers somewhere other than ourselves in the all powerful God who loves us. We can't understand how awesome God is until we're humble and look outside ourself.

Humility (humble) is having a teachable spirit. Thus you can be taught and get wisdom.

Wisdom accompanies those who are humble. (I needed a little help from a different translation.) Being humble is not being selfish or self involved. You are able to invite other perspectives into your understanding.

Because pride, in opposition to humility, brings disgrace - it causes mistakes, misinformation, misunderstandings, assertion of the person and their will into the situation. Rather than quietness, listening, peacefulness and allowance for people and things to be as they are - which comes with humility. When you are humble, you can listen and take in, rather than direct and force and power ahead. And that stance is where wisdom can blossom and grow. You can learn when you listen.
