More stringent resume checks

I don't mean just requiring a certificate - that only speaks to participation in the activity, not the extent. I've seen people who attended 1-2 meetings of OpenSoft (but obtained a certificate) claim credit for the entire software (literally in first person) on their CV. I've seen people make their internship look like world-class research because all they have to show is a disclaimer stating they showed up for it. Beautifying your resume is one thing, but there are often cases of deliberate and wilful misrepresentation of the truth to companies/universities, particularly damaging in processes where resumes matter a lot. I don't know what the solution is, but it seems the institute should be stepping in even more for due diligence. Maybe something on a departmental (and hence decentralized/manageable) level?

The recent meeting of all the Societies was to this end. He basically wanted clarity on roles and responsibilities of different members in the society. The minutes of that meeting should have been released... The delay is understandable, considering that the students who were minuting the meeting, have their mid-semester examinations as well.
