Ryan claimed he confessed because of the influence of a couple of pain killers. He also stated he a had a sexual relationship with Tara when he was prison. Those must be some pain killers he took.

Hey, I've been there before with painkillers. I tell ya I could have told someone that the moon was purple on those things if that is what they wanted to hear. Just my own experience...

We can all argue about if or how intoxicated Ryan claims to have been. I think a particularly important question is if Ryan misled investigators and lied or misspoke about his involvement in Tara’s death when did he try to eventually clear his name? It wasn’t at his arraignment and I’ve only heard that it was to possibly family members months after his arrest. I feel, and it’s only a feeling, that if someone wrongfully confessed under the influence that as soon as they realized they made a huge fuck up like that, they would fervently try to rectify that situation once the drugs they were on wore off. I’m not sure that scenario played out that way and if it did not then I feel like the scenario of an accidental confession is horse shit but JMO

We have all taken pain killers but I would wager none of us have murdered and burned a body over a number of days. Who breaks into someone's house, kills them, removes the body and burns the body over a number of days & then confesses to it and subsequently claims it was a false confession. After confessing to it, as realnachosnow said why the period of time for him to claim it was a false confession? What pain killers would Ryan have been given in prison when he claimed to have had an affair with Tara? There has been zero evidence to date to support Ryan having an affair with Tara. Ryan and Bo also confessed & thought it was funny apparently when they confessed to others at the party where Garland Lott overheard them. Hard for me to believe that pain killers are the reason that someone would falsely confess to murder and burning a body. Being over the moon from taking pain killers does not equal murder and burning a body. JMO.

What has the overall opinion of Ryan been according to the locals? Soft spoken, well mannered, Follower. Loyal friend. Not one for confrontation. Or violence period. Now with that being said. He obliviously followed the wrong person or persons that committed this crime. But the main question is why wait to contradict the alledged confession? Maybe because the real killer was still on the loose to threaten and and terrorize Ryan's family. That would be a good enough reason for a weak minded individual to do and say whatever the killer said. But then low and behold that guy gets arrested for imprisoning two women and sodomizing them. Now he cant threaten Ryan or his family. The next day Ryan files to throw out the confession because Bo's leveraging threats don't hold water anymore. How's my aim?

Not a Ryan Duke fan I assure you. It's just bout time to cut through the bullshit. Theyre both guilty and should both rot in prison forever for what they done to Tara body and her family. But I believe only one killed her and we all know in our heart of hearts who that is. The question that looms is why?
