Closure and Justice?

Mon, 02 May 2022 00:46:50 GMT

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years since we became crazy obsessed with the podcast and more importantly this Discussion Board. There were many long nights trying to answer the questions of who, how and why so now with Ryan’s trial will we finally have answers to all those questions we failed to answer? Also, will justice and closure be obtained?

This case did consume some of us. I don’t think we (as in us here) will get answers to all the questions we had. I hope that whatever happens Tara’s family feels like they got justice though.

We do have a version of what happened from Bo’s side. Some believe it’s a total fallacy while others say it’s a half truth at best. Ryan could offer up his side to give his truth… but legally adding culpability to any defendant isn’t sound strategy. I assume the jurors will have doubts by the end of the trial. Ryan’s team and how they explain away physical evidence, linked to Ryan and Tara, will probably be the keystone event for decision time.

It’s funny how we have Bo’s side which implicates Ryan and all we have from Ryan is a “false or pressured” confession and DNA evidence yet none of think he did it. We need more from Ryan.

Just saw where Payne has been subpoenaed and has filed an emergency motion to get out of it.Like

@realnachosnow I’ve felt like Ryan truly was black out drunk that night and just doesn’t have any recollection to tell us, other than what he’s been fed by Bo.

@ headadt Do you feel Payne’s 2 part episode “Black Out” helped push you towards this mindset? I know more than a few who feel this way. My hang up with this why hasn’t Ryan alleged this? Maybe because there’s no proof of it. There appears to be only scant confirmations that Ryan has killed Tara but is there less to indicate that Bo did all of this and afterwards dropped the “murder hot potato” in Ryan’s lap. Basically Bo is claiming he told the truth and yet I’m of the inclination that Ryan hasn’t come out and given his truth. Someone’s lie might hold more weight than the absence of another’s words, if that makes sense.

@realnachosnow I don’t particularly remember that episode but I’m going to go back and listen. There’s a combination of things I heard that led me to where I am now in my thought process (regarding Bo Vs Ryan) I understand what you mean about not hearing from Ryan, do you mean testifying in his own defense of what happened?

Ryan will not testify in open court unless he is a witness against Bo. Bo would have to be charged for Tara’s murder to hear from Ryan IMO. Catch 22 Ryan is the only one seemingly to be able to put the finger at anyone else and thus far we’ve only heard Merchant bash Bo without specifics. If I were Ryan AND I were innocent I’d make a statement to LE about the role reversal but alas Ryan is seemingly complacent with simply defending the current charges. If Ryan is not convicted I’d assume he’d be charged in the adjacent county for “cremating” Tara as he for sure implicated himself that much but who knows

Nachos- it’s always was so interesting to me how so many were willing to believe Ryan falsely confessed but I hope after today that puts that BS theory to rest . #pickastoryandsticktoit As Judge Judy says, if you tell the truth you don’t have to have a good memory. They’re both POS and both belong in jail for life.

@Beej I’ve got some catching up to do. I only saw what Phil tweeted and he doesn’t seem as unbiased as he’d like everyone to think. I am glad Ryan took the stand and put forth his version. I agree that both Ryan and Bo should pay heavily for their crimes and have no sympathy for either. Hopefully I can find time to view and dissect what occurred in Ocilla today

Ryan seemed well rehearsed on direct and held is composure during cross IMO. Ryan’s story seems plausible but the fact it came at the 11th hour is concerning to it’s truthfulness. Also Ryan’s allegations of being scared of Bo fall on deaf ears as he was staying with him at that time AND they moved into another trailer. Those two things don’t mesh in my head. Lastly Ms. Hart gave a punishing blow when she recounted the many lies Ryan has given throughout his incarceration. I forget the line she used but it was more or less “You lie when the stakes are high and you’d agree the stakes are high right now!” If I had to guess I’d say a hung jury tho

HOLY SHIT I literally JUST finished the podcast 20 mins ago. Just started the Oxygen special and looked up the discussions... I can't believe my timing. I'm definitely team Ryan was manipulated by Bo, but then again I don't have all the info. Was the gag order finally removed? Is there more info out there somewhere?
