Ryan’s alibi

A motion filed by Paul Bowden has given Ryan’s legal team 10 days to provide an official alibi for Ryan during the time in which Tara’s murder was suspected to have occurred. Any alibi with a list of witnesses who can corroborate his claim should also be submitted at this time. To me this is long overdue. The defense has had 16 months since an official statement by the prosecution was made after Ryan’s arrest. Both Bo and Ryan had 11+ years to concoct a story that lays out their involvement. Ryan has had an immense advantage of Bo’s dumbass blabbing about his claims to what may have happened in late October 2005. It’s about time Ryan is judicially ordered to make a claim of his facts in the case. With the amount of talk on this DB, local rumors and additionally with all the files LE has handed over its about time Ryan’s team make an official statement of what happened. Thoughts and criticisms, as always, are welcome

I'm saying phone records could be used to go against what Bo says about some things. Tara's phone records not anyone else's that is

Max 1 year jail time, although breaking federal parole may be Bo’s lengthy punishment

Like maybe they did know each other or he was in contact with her... hmmmm that would def add more to the mix.

That, too. The Wilcox charges would be a parole violation, I would think.

Very possible

@slick interesting! I would’ve assumed GBI would’ve followed any lead resulting from Tara’s phone record search but we know some involved in the investigation used a broom and rug before as investigative tools so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also, in Georgia, making false statements is a felony and the max is 5 years - minimum is 1 year.

Agreed, maybe had they handled things more professionally I wouldn't bring this up. But beingvthay they did not do so, it's a strong chance those phone records need to be combed through again now knowing what they do now and what's been said

How long has the defense had the entire case file?

5 years is correct max for Georgia. That seems crazy long as it can be argued that someone who left out one part of story but was otherwise truthful could face five years. Bo did not near the example I gave he just outright lied to cover up involvement but damn five years for lying as opposed to major felonies that have similar sentencing feels like an overstep for guidelines of this crime.

My state is only a year max and that is a long time in my eyes

Defense has had it roughly a week now maybe a little less.

>SlickWilly 1h ! >Do you think Nelson should be held accountable? If so, how so? Loss of job, probation, jail >time, fines, lawsuits? Same for Leigh Lightner or whatever her name is(GBI agent he supposedly reported it to) Hell yeah he should be held accountable. He should’ve contacted the SA in charge when he initially received the information from the Paulk’s. The alleged crimes and confessions took place in another county which is part of a different judicial circuit. And for those of you unfamiliar with the area, this orchard is located on the northern side of BHC. So, it’s not like they just stepped over the county line into it. Also, his ass knew better than to take civilians with him and an investigator to a potential crime scene. I believe the Paulk’s and Lott were trying to do the right thing, but none of them had any business out there “investigating” that orchard at night (wonder why he waited til dark to take them out there). To the best of my knowledge, they did not even have permission from the landowner, making them trespassers. If all of his dumb fu ckery results in Bo walking away, I hope he loses his damn retirement at the very least. For mishandling such critical information that would’ve given Tara’s family some answers and the guilty ones swift and certain punishment, he deserves everything Slick mentioned above. He had Tara’s justice in his hand and he may as well have just slapped her parents across their faces with it.

IDK how this would work, if at all, but I'd try to bring criminal charges against him for knowingly concealing or even aiding/abetting for not contacting GBI or following protocol.

I guess it would maybe come down to intent? So if they could prove he knowingly covered up a crime, maybe. But if they can’t prove he knew the crime took place and was actively covering it up, then I don’t think criminal charges would be likely. Civil suit is possible. Maybe losing pension. It’s hard to say as law enforcement get away with stuff at a much higher rate than almost anyone else.
