I say 2,3, and 4 are possible . The cray of these guys that just keeps getting more out there and the whole expanded rumor mill of Crestone (which is 100% off the chain) is making me wonder if any of them can be believed. Like what stories have they fed each other over time? Not that one can not try and sort out fact from fiction - detectives manage somehow, but I'm just wondering about the about the potentially delusional or manipulative drug users. Especially with meth use, I wonder if any of these guys are just trying to figure out what's in all this for them. $20,000 looking good by now to set someone up for a fall, possibly? Does talking to a podcast producer seem a more comfortable way to go about possibly being the one to help crack this case? Even Landon seemed like he was trying to get Payne to maybe do a show involving that Love Has Won cult. I need to hear a lot more. #4 is now not off the table for me and whatever that entails.
I think there are two possibilities looking at the evidence in her house, and thinking that she didn't have a car and couldn't drive anywhere at the time AND the fact that all the personal effects were left in the house along with lights being left on. 1. she went to answer the door and was abducted (because there was no sign of struggle in the house) 2. she was tripping and left the house willingly forgetting her stuff (because you don't need a wallet or a phone when you're on LSD)
What if her and her bf had a fight at the apartment and he accidentally killed her?
There are limited ways to kill someone that don't result in either evidence of a struggle or bleeding, or for that matter making alot of noise to draw attention to the fact you are killing someone. This is somewhat restricted to strangulation and possibly blunt force trauma (which is more likely to cause a mess than not). If you were planning to kill someone and make them disappear, wouldn't it we smarter to take them somewhere out of the way where noone would hear them, and the mess was easier to clean up. So it would make a difference if a murder was planned or not.
Good points. Just trying to make sense of her personal things and tobacco at her apartment.
@evergreen I think we can assume that she wasn't planning on leaving the apartment. Or at least wasn't planning on being out for very long. 1.She might have popped out to put out the trash and been taken. 2. Or gone to a neighbour for a minute and there might have been someone waiting for her when she got back. 3. Or (most likely to me) someone called to her place when they saw the lights on. I think the lights being on gives us a bit of timeframe for when she went missing also.
I'm wondering if anyone found that computer book that Catfish says she took with her on the way out of his house ( what he told Deputy Clark) while they were investigating.
So has everyone listened to the cell phone episode? That’s what it keeps going back to and I’m jumping on that other thread because it seems like I’m more confused than before :/
Yeah I have, and as far as this conversation goes, now that we know Kristal’s door was a “key code” lock changes things for me. It’s very likely that a ton of people could have had access to her house at any point. I don’t think Kristal was the type to guard her pass code judiciously, I’m certain some of her “friends” would have had it, and from there it could get passed on to whoever “needed” it.
Was it not stated by someone that these guys ( catfish and company) "dosed" each other . Maybe the dozed Kristal and it proved fatal
Sorry dosed not dozed
Nobody goes anywhere with out their cell phone or tobacco. She must've stepped out for a minute or left with the intention of coming back within minutes. I do also think it's possible she OD'd and somebody covered it up for fear of getting in trouble. ALSO, I find it to be VERY weird this Matthew guy just came into the picture. Why hasn't he come up before? Why was he trying to get into her computer and not the Police? Strange.
I still think she went outside the apartment with the intention of coming back in pretty quickly. By any chance did they find her wallet?. I'm wondering this because some dealers call round to drop stuff off, she might have just gone out to meet her dealer and not made it back to her place. It would make sense if she knew who was calling round, that she would leave her cell phone but take her wallet. It would also make sense that her dealer would call over because she didn't have her car anymore. Just a thought.
I think we need more information about the ex boyfriend from Crestone. He is someone she’d give her code to. He is someone she’d be in her apartment with.
I thought it was strange the landlord seemed to think "nobody" could have access to the apartment because of the code lock. Theoretically, I feel like a code provides easier access than a key and potentially could have been known and/or given to several people.
Wonder if someone could have just tried a bunch of numbers and got it open as well.
@ Cake, I think if she was stepping outside to buy drugs she most definitely would not bring her wallet, just cash in hand. A wallet is too obvious and typically I think deals are done in a very non-obvious way. JMO...
But what happened to her phone charger? Did she lose it that day or did Matt take it? Could it have been used as a spur of the moment strangulation device or to at least threaten her enough to get her out of the apartment quickly and quietly? I doubt she ran out real quick for a drug deal and brought her phone charger with her.
Good question. I am always misplacing my phone charger or leaving it somewhere else if I plan to stay overnight anywhere. Maybe all she had was a car charger at the time.
@lexala I see what you mean. I think if it was night time and someone drove up and she got in their car with her wallet, no-one is gonna care or really see anything. Hrmn the phone charger thing is weird. Maybe whoever took her computer took that too?. I'm in europe so all the phone chargers here are the same. Is it possible that she might have left it somewhere?.
