Did she say she was going to go over there to talk to Carfish? I can't remember exactly, but it seemed that LBJ also thought she was going over there to confront that him or whoever else might have been there (after the alleged rape.) I can't wait to find out about this party on one of the next podcasts.
Yes, Ara, you stated on the podcast that you were afraid to go up to the apartment alone and I don't blame you. Thank you for your help and insight in all of this. You have been very brave!
One more thing, at first I thought this Matt sounded sketchy. I've changed my mind though. He seemed to really care about Kristal and I heard somewhere (can't remember where at all) that Kristal and he had a casual type of intimate involvement. My instinct says that he only wanted to help and that he cared about Kristal. Also how close was he with the core POI circle? So what does everyone else think?
he struggles with addiction. probably close to some degree because of that, but I've always kind of considered him a little different somehow, I would more often see him at the brewery alone. I'm not sure.
Thank you for your insight. So he didn't seem to hang around that crowd often?
I'm not exactly sure because it's not like that crowd goes to the cafe to get coffee together. They must hang out in houses a lot. I have seen Matthew with some of that crowd on the street in past years, but they're all around each others age, guys, and all struggle with addictions. I do know Matthew and Krystal were close friends, not in a romantic way. Matthew isn't as testosterone driven or angry the way the other ones seemed. Matthew is smart and has feelings. Also insecurities. He does boast and joke a lot.
I have tried to get him to call Payne, but i think he's overwhelmed by all this. I can't say i blame him.
@ itsmethelandlord so you are saying that you hung out and around "the other ones" enough to label them as testosterone driven and/or angry. It's almost like you are calling them all down right stupid as well. I don't know about you but if I was being accused of horrific crimes and no one in the world believed of my innocence, I'd be pretty angry as well. But that's just me assuming by what you wrote, that you've spent time with them.
At this point I'm thinking you're friends with catfish. I live in a small town, I notice things. I haven't accused anyone of anything. I'm sorry, but you just sound way too decided and angry about all this. In my opinion, you are highly suspicious. Just saying.
you are always deflecting.
"always"? Wow, are you my ex husband or something? LOL. None of your business. I'm not going to waste my time explaining things to someone I don't know. We're done. Good luck with your attitude problem.
Okay not going to lie @itsmethelandlord your interview peaked my interest as well but having the clarification of you not going into the apartment by yourself makes me feel better. The podcast made it seem as though you took it upon yourself to rummage through a missing tenants room which i felt was very suspicious. Not saying the police officers were overly efficient in their jobs & should be fully trusted by any means, but the clarification of you having the authorities there makes a lot more sense!
This podcast makes a whole lot of things seem a certain way...
Itsmethelandlord stated she was doing more than the LE was. What does that even mean??
it means lot's of things, like calling in a lot of info given to me on the street. Here's something. After I reported her missing, I asked Wayne if he was going to go talk to catfish, to see if he knew her whereabouts. He said they couldn't find his address. Couldn't he find that easily on a computer back at the station? I located it within a half hour, and called it in. 2 days later I ran into my ex husband, and asked him what he was up to. He said he was running around trying to find catfishes address for Wayne. I said "that makes no sense because I just called it in to them two days ago. Same address. Since then I found out It's illegal for a cop to ask people outside the police station to find info for them. At that point we knew she was missing, but the police weren't treating like a homicide at all. Since catfish was the last person to call her, surely they would have talked to him right away. Then he goes to talk to him on the 8th of August? A week later? Unfortunately a lot of the things that were weird back then that I have told all the officials and payne about are never aired. or reported. No one wants to talk about those things. But they can air bullshit about how I supposedly let Matthew in her place? I have to admit hearing eli say that hurt. I watched Akasha for them when they had to deal with Krystals apartment. I thought they knew me better than that.
@itsmethelandlord, thank you for this. Thank you SO much for this. I know you cared for her, this is
**had to be a tough message to write, on Thanksgiving no less. But thank you!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼💛💛
Also Ara, and this is just my opinion obviously, it sounded to me like he was just really frustrated & confused about what happened with her phone & stuff. I don’t personally know Matt, but I think he probably cared for her too. And I don’t think he did anything malicious to Kristal either. 🙏🏼😕
Itsmethelandlord, dont listen to the haters!! I never got the feeling that you were hiding anything or that you knew something! You did the right thing by going to the police with the info you had. Seems kinda odd to me that the police acted like they didnt know catfish's address when you had called it in to them 2 days earlier!! Theyre the police for crying out loud.......................they wouldnt have had to tell anyone that a citizen gave them the address!!!!!! Geez!!
Wayne’s actions about this case are horrifying. It’s like he just doesn’t care about his job or gets paid more to cover things up. I’m under the assumption that Wayne and Catfish had some kind of personal friendship involving drugs, money or another lucrative business. It’s extremely suspicious that Wayne, Eli, and Rodney went to retrieve Kristal’s phone from Wayne’s personal friend. I don’t think Eli and Rodney would lie about that happening. It’s just not worth it. Even if Payne was paying them to make the podcast intriguing. It’s already full of incriminating details. I think Wayne should be investigated. This case wasn’t handled professionally or ethically.
