Does anyone here know where merchandise proceeds and other proceeds from the show are going? Is there any portion of this going to causes for preventing violence against women and children, given that this has seemingly been a focal point in the show? I understand that bringing awareness around the cases/storytelling have been top priorities of the show, but would like to see some effort to proactively speak out against the horrible violence against women that the show is making its fame around.

Payne set up a scholarship fund last year, I think in Tara’s name. That’s all I know of.

It does make me sad that Dusty passed away never gaining any financial gain for his contributions to the podcast and telling Tara's story. He contributed a lot to the episodes in my opinion. I do feel he sincerely wanted justice for Tara.

This is always an interesting topic to me. When reporters cover stories, or authors write books about cold cases, are they expected to give a huge amount of the proceeds to charity? Or are they making a living? Payne and team just happened create entertainment while also helping a family find justice. It’s a business. They are making money but I don’t think they are Scrooge McDucking their way around in a vault filled with gold.
