Why is a true-crime podcast pushing a work of fiction (Heads of Sierra Blanca)?

I lost interest in Up & Vanished after they ended season 2 with nothing close to a resolution or otherwise summary ending. And now they're pushing this fake podcast "Heads of Sierra Blanca" as if it were true crime. Lame. Really, really lame.

weighed down by it = caring about real people?

I was one of the people who gave the season 1 of the podcast an awful rating on itunes because of that horrific "live taping" where everyone was hooting and hollering with zero respect for tara and her family. It seems as if Payne himself gets so effected by the ugliness of the subject matter, every once in a while he does a vanity project about the most sensationalist pieces of these real tragedies without the "weighing down" factor.

I was in somewhat disbelief right from the premise with this one. So I looked it up and BINGO. Fiction. Oh well...unsubscribed...
