Can you send us a screen shot of the error you are getting when you try to move to external drive? We're working on relinking and just about ready to test and ship that. Thanks Chris
Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. The relinking issue is what will turn Videux from a really great program into a truly brilliant one. In the meantime here is the screenshot of what happens when asking Videux to move a directory to an external drive... Thanks for the screenshot. I see what you are talking about now. We currently do not have it enabled to "move" a directory across devices. It's something we'll add at some point (and I've addd a ticket in our system for that).. The main issue with it is what happens if the move fails in mid-move - we'll just have to deal with that and allow the user to recover if that happens. Note that you can accomplish the same thing currently by moving the videos themselves. In that case, it will recognize that the move is across devices and will copy them instead (and update the catalog to point to the new location).
Thanks for your reply Chris. I can see how this last process should work but every time I try I get a permissions issue. Videux looks like it is doing it but then fails with a dialog box saying the item can't be moved because "you don't have permission to access" the folder and that to change permissions. Well I have done this to every file and folder on the machine to give me complete read/write permissions I have also downloaded and reinstalled Videux in case it wasn't updating but still it won't let me... So, ideas please - this is such a good programme - it could and should be an excellent one and one that Lightroom users with lots of video content will really, really appreciate. Best wishes Ian

It would most likely be the destination folder that you don't have permission to access, or a file already exists with that name. It is certainly possible that there is a bug there... I will try to replicate it here, but anything you can do to shed light on it would be helpful.
HI picsunder, re-linking is in the new build we are preparing to release. We're doing some final testing on the build and should have a release out soon.
