An interesting question from the Archives Association of Ontario listserv about how best to digitize daguerrotypes. They are difficult because of high reflection. The suggestion from John Lund at City of Ottawa Archives is to photograph, not scan. He also sent along the following resources for capturing daguerrotypes:
