Basic CnJ technique question

Hey wes quick question about my Clean. Once I get into my 80% pr range my clean is hit or miss and I wanna get more consistent. I usually find myself on my toes and I round off my back too much to try and hold my deep clean. I noticed in your last video about the high hang clean you said we should be jumping straight up and not cranking our back super far back. Was that unique only to the high hang or is that something that could help?

That is a huge part of executing at heavier percentages and being more consistent in the lifts. If your pull is vertical, it's very predictable. The bar will stay close to your body and you will meet it well! If you lean back it can get very unpredictable. We say to finish your extension with your shoulders just slightly covering the bar. "Stay Over the Bar" is the que we use. Also it is important to be really tight and hold position as you initiate your lift. You want to put tension into the bar before you start. Practice lifting from 1 from the ground and then as it gets heavier apply the same pressure, but leave the bar on the floor. This should take care of everything! Good luck!
